With A Little Luck

No, this isn't a blog about the Wings song from the album London Town. You can read about that on a different site.

For some reason the Chicago White Sox cannot beat the Kansas City Royals. The south siders lost this afternoon's games in Kansas City, 5-2. In fact, they were no-hit into the sixth inning. Despite their inability to beat the Royals, the White Sox continue to maintain a 1 1/2 game lead over the Detroit Tigers. The Sox have extended their losing streak to three games. Fortunately for them, the Tigers have dropped two in a row.

All of this is leading toward an important series beginning on Friday, August 31. Of course, the White Sox host the New York Yankees Monday through Wednesday, then the Seattle Mariners, and then four games in Baltimore against the Orioles.

Bill, with new fouled up play off system that is in place the Sox are going to make the play offs. As far as the Yankee series, it will be important but don't be disappointed if the Pinstripes don't take it. As far as I am concerned, I think adding two more teams to the play offs is a disaster because it does is extend the season and in some markets the World Series Game Seven could have snow in the forecast.
