Blockbuster MLB Trade: Dodgers and Red Sox

From my initial thoughts, the Los Angeles Dodgers intend to win the National League West Title. With the waiver trade deadline around the corner on Friday, August 31, the Dodgers intend to close the 2 1/2 game lead and overtake the San Francisco Giants. They also sit one game out of the wild card race.

The Boston Red Sox traded pitcher Josh Beckett; first baseman Adrian Gonzalez; outfielder Carl Crawford; and utility infielder Nick Punto to the Dodgers in exchange for James Loney; Ivan DeJesus, Jr.; Allen Webster; and two additional players to be named later.
