Magic Numbers 2012 v2.0

Our calendars have flipped to mid-September, baseball's magic numbers are true meaning. The boys of summer are gearing up to compete in the Fall Classic. Over the course of the next two weeks, players will be popping champagne dousing teammates and fans alike as franchises clinch their respective division titles in pursuit of league pennants.

As of this morning, no teams have clinched yet. There's plenty of work to be done in the American League, but the National League Central and West could have division winners before the weekend.

Here's are the current division leaders and their magic numbers:

New York Yankees (AL East): 16
Chicago White Sox (AL Central): 14
Texas Rangers (AL West): 14

Washington Nationals (NL East): 11
Cincinnati Reds (NL Central): 5
San Francisco Giants (NL West): 8
