MLB Game #8: Athletics vs. White Sox

I love picking up baseball tickets at the last minute. Susan was invited to her company's corporate box for tonight's White Sox game against the Oakland Athletics. Fortunate for me, I get to tag along. Tonight's game is open to family members, too.
Tonight's starting pitchers are Justin Duchscherer (8-5) and Javier Vazquez (7-6).
Keeping an eye on the Cubs' pursuit of the National League pennant, here are the current NL Central Division standings.
Chicago Cubs 51-34 ---
St. Louis Cardinals 49-37 2.5 GB
Milwaukee Brewers 46-38 4.5 GB
Pittsburgh Pirates 40-44 10.5 GB
Houston Astros 40-45 11 GB
Cincinnati Reds 39-47 12.5 GB

Bill Thursday, July 3, 2008
1) Maybe you've just never had a blog for me to see how many games you get to attend, Bill, but it seems like you're getting to go to a ton of them this year. Aside from your "Great American Ballpark Tour" last year (or was it the year before?), have you ever set this kind of pace in a season before?
2) Actually, this is my normal pace for games. I usually end up going to about 12-15 games each season. It does seem like my games are fairly front loaded this season. This is hard to believe, but my big trip was eight years ago. Those games were the last week of August and first week of September in 2000. Time flies.
