Christmas Eve 2012: Who's Working?

The holidays are falling on Tuesdays this year. We were fortunate to travel a lot over the last 12 months, so my vacation time is exhausted until the start of 2013. You know what that means - I'll be in the office today. We have a proposal due on Wednesday, but there is minimal work needed on that project. It should only consist of a few minor text edits here and there (I hope!). Traditionally, we shut the office down early, but the exact time varies each year. None of our clients will be working, so the volume of calls should border on the line of insignificant to non-existent.

So, who else is working in the office today?

I was. It was pretty quiet but wasn't too bad. The good news it put me halfway to the Christmas Eve party so I had a shorter drive there.

Sounds like that worked out for you. I think I counted seven people in the office. We closed the office at 2:30.

Our company has a firm policy. No closing early for holidays. Of course that only seems to apply to the corporate offices. The field offices seem to be exempt from that policy. I start early so I was out at 2:30 which is my regular time. I threw a pity party for the few who had to work in the office. Cookies, fudge, brownies. Everyone seemed to appreciate the effort. Nothing says sympathy like chocolate. LOL
