1) 2 onions, finely sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/3 c. oil or butter
1 frying chicken, about 3 lbs., cut into pieces or 1 lb. of any stewing meat, cut into cubes
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. ground cardamom
1 lb. carrots, scraped & sliced
1/4 tsp. saffron, dissolved in 1 tbsp. hot water
1/2 c. orange juice
2 c. pitted prunes

1. Brown the onions and garlic in 3 tablespoons oil. Add the chicken or meat and brown the pieces. Add salt, pepper, cinnamon and turmeric and cardamom. Add water, 1 1/2 cups for chicken, 2 1/2 cups for meat. Cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes for chicken and 1 hour for meat. 2. Saute carrots in 2 tablespoons oil and add to the chicken or meat. Add dissolved saffron and orange juice. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes over low heat. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes over low heat. Add prunes and let simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes.

3. Taste the meat, sauce and correct seasoning. Cover and keep warm until ready to serve. It's ideal to serve with white cooked rice. Makes about 6 servings.

2) Sometimes, two or more nouns in a sentence should show possession. If the nouns have joint ownership, add an apostrophe to only the last noun according to the rules of possessives. If the nouns have separate ownership, you must add apostrophes to both nouns. Let’s look at some examples.
Examples: Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus’s house is located at the North Pole.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus share joint ownership of the house, so we add the apostrophe to show possession on only the last noun, Mrs. Claus.
The girls’ and the boys’ shoes were placed in cubicles while they played.
The girls and the boys have separate ownership of their own shoes, so we must add apostrophes to show possession on both nouns.

That should answer the Gene & Jude's question...

10) Real good so far. This comment makes 991.

MommaJes, thanks for the recipe. We'll have to give that a shot. We are getting our CSA vegetables now. We're always looking for new cooking adventures.

LimeyGeorge, the Twins are doing great without Santana. Don't forget that Torii Hunter headed west to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Two all-stars gone, still in the AL Central hunt.

23) Torii Hunter is a great outfielder but the ball has to go to the outfield before he can do great things. Considering his bat is average for an outfielder, I think trading him wasn't a bad move for the Twins considering that he was probably one of the highest paid players there.
