Revisiting Old New Year's Resolutions

With 2013 looming around the corner, I started thinking about New Year's resolutions. Most years, I don't make them, but on occasion I'll set goals for myself. Some work, some don't.

Last year, I decided I was woefully overdue and needed to learn to play a musical instrument. So far, so good. That's progressing nicely. It's immensely challenging, but rewarding. Also in 2012, I decided to dig into the deepest recesses of my bookshelf and dust off books that I intended to read for years. Decades in certain instances, too. While that happened to a degree, an overwhelming majority of the books I finished during the last 12 months were recent purchases. On top of that, I didn't read nearly as many books as I had hoped. Damn Netflix and MLB Network.

The other night I rummaged through my Humzoo archives and stumbled across a year-end blog from 2009. After reading that blog, I must give myself a pat on the back. I've always heard that it takes 28 days to create a habit. In this case, I've been doing this for more than 1,000 consecutive days. Pushing 1,500.

Check out this blast from the past for details.
