MLB 2013 Game #1: Diamondbacks vs. BrewersThe final day of the 2012 regular season seemed like ages ago. Being exact, it's been 185 days. We closed out last season with an action-packed, two city doubleheader. The day commenced with an afternoon showdown between the Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. As the two teams took the field, they amassed a total of 207 losses (Astros 106, Cubs 101), but the Cubs prevailed and shipped the Astros to the American League with their 107th loss. Following Bryan LaHair's game-winning hit, we jumped in the car and travelled north to Miller Park to watch the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers that evening.
So the 2013 season begins where last season concluded - at Miller Park. This season is too young to detect any trends or make predictions. Many players are still taking the field for the first time. With that in mind, the Brewers are off to a sluggish start. They notched a win on Opening Day, but they answered with three consecutive losses.
This evening, the Arizona Diamondbacks find themselves tied atop the National League West with the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. All three teams are 3-1 on the season. Tonight, the Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will make his season debut against the Brewers. The Brewers will answer with Mike Fiers (0-0, 0.00 ERA) as he also makes his season debut.
