L.A.T.E. Ride 2008
For years, I have heard about the McDonald's L.A.T.E. Ride in Chicago, but I never really figured I would participate. A few months ago, my wife's former boss asked if we would be interested in 45-mile bike ride fundraiser in Kane County along the Fox River. We agreed, and I decided it was time to start training. By training, I mean get my bike repaired and actually ride once again.
I started to remember that Dave had a bike page on his old website. A few years ago, I meant to sign up and use that site. Since I registered for the Fox River ride, one of my friends suggested we try the L.A.T.E. Ride in Chicago on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
In a few minutes, I'll be off for a 25-mile bike ride through downtown Chicago, north side neighborhoods and the lakefront. The ride begins at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. Does anyone have a 5-hour energy drink? I might need one. Since this is a McDonald's sponsored event, maybe they will have McGriddles at the end. Hmmm.

1) Good luck-hope you have good weather.
2) It's cooling down, so it looks good.
3) You make me want to get my bike out and hit the road. I hope you have fun! Good luck!
4) Sounds like a great ride. In August, St. Louis holds the Moonlight Ramble. A 10 or 20 mile night ride that begins at midnight. I am hoping to that this year.
5) We ended up finishing just over two hours and 20 minutes. Very cool event.
