Biking to Work

A while ago, I mentioned that biking to work didn't seem practical. Riding from Elmhurst to Warrenville? That sounds crazy. For a long time, I believed that. After some research and a few test runs, it turns out to be a perfectly viable option.

Last week, a few guys in the office suggested that a group of co-workers might be able to bike to work. We broke out our maps and developed several options. Yesterday, three of us pulled off the feat. One guy biked from West Chicago, another from Aurora, and me from Elmhurst.

Of course, I have to attend an event after work today, and have a meeting in the afternoon on Friday. I'll have to wait until next week to make another attempt.

3) That is great. I would be one big ball of sweat if I did that, and it would probably take me forever and a day to get to work. I commend you for doing that, great exercise and good for the environment.

4) Yes, I take the Prairie Path (Main Stem) west to downtown Wheaton. Next, I turn southwest on the IPP (Aurora Branch). My ride is almost exactly 15 miles.

6) Cool story Bill! Keep us posted on how it goes. If you need some advice on how to keep the sweat and stink to a minimum ask Dave. He commutes to work on a bike daily and I think his co-workers still like him.

8) I biked to work a couple times last year. The stink and sweat is a bit difficult...that and my hair looked like crap all day.
