MLB 2017 Game #8: Phillies vs. Brewers

With a 5 1/2 game lead over the defending World Series champions, the Milwaukee Brewers (52-41, .559) continue to amaze. Both the Brewers and second-place Chicago Cubs (45-45, .500) remain undefeated following the All-Star Game break, but Milwaukee has strung together three wins and have won eight of their last 10 games.

Milwaukee opened the second half of the 2017 season at home against the worst team in baseball, the Philadelphia Phillies (29-60, .326). To apply an additional touch to the unexpected start, this weekend, the Brewers are celebrating the 1982 American League pennant winners.

The Phillies will attempt to thwart the Brewers' plans for a sweep. This afternoon, the Phillies will send 30-year-old Jeremy Hellickson (5-5, 4.39 ERA) to the mound.

The Brewers task 33-year-old Matt Garza (4-4, 3.98 ERA) with completing the sweep.
