Brett as a Jet?

Late last night, new broke that Brett Favre was traded to the New York Jets. During the day, all reports had a trade developing between the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Apparently that did not come to fruition. We'll have to see how this works. Just wait until he begins to show his age in the spotlight of the New York media, especially since the Giants are reigning Super Bowl champions.

Any predictions on how this will end for Favre? Will this resemble Joe Montana during his Kansas City Chiefs era? Michael Jordan with Washington Wizards? Willie Mays as a member of the New York Mets?

1) I just think this is the wrong way for Brett to go out. Very disappointing.

Funny story. While at the doctor's office the other day this redneck guy was talking to his mom about Brett Farve and the controversy but he could not remember the name of the team Brett played for. I thought about helping the guy out, but it was too funny just listening to him struggle to remember the Packers.

2) Totally agree with Niki. While I'm not a huge football fan, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what's going to happen here. No matter how he plays or where, the only thing people are going to look back on now is this debacle that has played out over the last couple of weeks. Some argue he was pressured into retiring. Pressured is the key word. Not forced. If he didn't want to, he shouldn't have done it. I think he dug his own hole for this one.

3) J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS. The dude can still play. I happened to hate Pennington and could not wait for the day he was not throwing a football for the Jets! This is a glorious day!

4) Remember, this is a team coming off a 4-12 season. The Jets don't have the best group of WR's but do have a nice O-line. Don't get me wrong, there's no bigger upgrade then adding the best QB arguably of all time, but it's a team game and I'm not sure the JETS have enough of a supporting cast. However he is reunited with Bubba Franks! GO BEARS!

5) The Bears are on TV tonight. Does Orton still have his neck beard?

7) Ozthegreat, were you listening to The Score this afternoon? Hub Arkush mentioned that he received inside information that Kyle Orton was already given the starting QB job. Interesting.

8) I missed the entire day of Score broadcasting. The QB is only the beginning of the problems this team has. They have no quality receivers and the O line is shaky at best. The defense is going to have to be near perfect this year for the Bears to win games.

9) Brett Farve has a good Wide Receiver to throw to in Jerico Colthery. Jerico was Philip Rivers favorite target in college.

10) Just b/c they were good at NCSU doesn't mean they're great in the NFL. I'm sure he's no Donald Driver.

I miss Brett! :( :( :(
