I'm reading a sad book
Well, not sad that way. Susan is reading a real sad book.
During the summer, I decided to crank out a few baseball books that I have owned for a while, but always skipped over for other ones. Right now, I am finishing "Baseball, Chicago Style." This is a quick history of both the Cubs and White Sox. I remembered just how pathetic the Chicago Cubs have been during my lifetime.
The authors condensed the 1988 through 2000 seasons into one chapter. That timeframe essentially covered my high school, college (undergraduate and graduate) days, as well as, my first handful of professional years. The book did reference the 1989 division title, but basically stated that team was not as good as the 1984 team. The 1998 wild card team was mentioned, but only that Kerry Wood was a good rookie who struck out 20 Astros and then the team was spanked in the playoffs.
Good thing we're going to the post-season this year, right?

1) Did the author mention the "Monkey" buried under home plate at Wrigley?
