MLB 2020: Canceled Game #1 – Cubs vs. BrewersTonight was originally slated as my Opening Day. Susan and I were planning to travel to Milwaukee's Miller Park for the first time during the 2020 campaign. The first game of the year had our two teams pitted against each other. She's a Milwaukee Brewers fan, and I'm a Chicago Cubs fan.
As mentioned on March 15, we are living in strange times. Nothing is open due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With that, there's no Major League Baseball. Right now, with the number of victims infected with the coronavirus, there's no end in sight. Until then, we manage to get our baseball fixes anyway possible.
Since we are at home this evening, I decided to use What if Sports to run a simulated game between the Brewers and Cubs. No, I did not attempt to play the game that should have been played. I opted to line up the two franchises most recent pennant winners: the 2016 Chicago Cubs (won the World Series) and the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers (then members of the American League).
Here are the results.
