MLB 2022 Game #22: Reds vs. Cubs
As the 2022 season comes to a close, today I am making my final trip to Wrigley Field. This afternoon the Chicago Cubs (72-86, .456) will play to host the Cincinnati Reds (60-98, .380) during the final home game of the season. There's nothing at stake during this contest as both team were eliminated from postseason contention. The two teams sit 20 and 32 games behind the NL Central champions St. Louis Cardinals (92-66, .582) respectively.Today the Reds will send 34-year-old Chase Anderson (2-3, 4.70 ERA) to the mound. Anderson only appeared in seven games this season with six of them being starts. The Cubs will answer with 31-year-old Marcus Stroman (5-7, 3.66 ERA).
Fun fact: Today marks my fourth Reds game of the 2022 season. I've seen them play the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field, and an early-September game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
