Support Your Team Here

The Major League Baseball playoffs start today. Here's the schedule for today:

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Philadelphia Phillies - 2 p.m. CT
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs - 5:30 p.m. CT
Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim - 9 p.m. CT

The Chicago White Sox/Tampa Bay Rays series starts on Thursday.

All NLDS and ALDS games will be broadcast on TBS. If you are looking for radio coverage, all games will be available on you local ESPN radio station. If you are in a local market, your team's games will also be broadcast in their regular radio station.

Which team are you following in the postseason? Did your team make the playoffs?

By reading blogs on my site, you probably know I am a Cubs fan. Susan is a Brewers fan. I know there are other Cubs, White Sox and Brewers fans on Humzoo. There are also people living in Philadelphia and near Los Angeles. I think someone mentioned being a Red Sox fan. Any Rays fans?

I already made a successful prediction about the Twins not making it due to the Sox winning 3 in a row. So, no, my team did not make it but I suppose that means I'm supporting the Sox because that makes the Twins look better.
My second choice is the Brewers I suppose. I'm going to Milwaukee the weekend after next. We have a friend who lives there and we love the area.

LimeyGeorge, that sounds fair. That gives you one team in each league. White Sox in the American League and Brewers in the National League. What if we end up with a White Sox/Brewers World Series? You can wait a few weeks with an answer.

I'm a Boston fan!!!
I lived a couple blocks away from Fenway in 2004 and got to riot with the best of them!
BUT I will admit since leaving Boston I'm just a poor bandwagon fan that barely watches them play and didn't even get to go to Fenway once this season so discount me for nothing because I have lost my status as a true fan!!

I married into a Red Sox family. I was a Mets fan as a child, but haven't followed them for years. Now I stick with the Sox out of family loyalty, and the fact that there are way too many annoying Yankee fans in my area.

The BeanCounter is very happy for you CUB fans because you have down so long. I have been told that a monkey is buried under home plate at Wrigley Field, is this fact or fiction? Even though I live in North Carolina, I am not a Braves fan, I am a New York Yankee fan will always be. Is the area where you live divided between Cubs and Cardinal fans? I pull for the Rams because of Torry Holt, but no other reason. In the NFL, I pull for three teams: The Dallas Cowboys, The San Diego Chargers, and The Houston Texans. GO CUBBIES.

I woke up this morning and realized that I've been a Cubs fan for awhile. So I decided - as of today - to become a Texas Rangers fan.

The Brewers and Phillies are underway. No score after one inning.

The Phillies defeated the Brewers, 3-1, in Game 1 of the NLDS. Though Milwaukee was never far behind, it was a case of too little, too late. Corey Hart struck out with runners on second and third. With a base hit, he could have tied the game.

Blah, blah, blah. Looked too nervous and too tight in the beginning. Yo-Ga made me nervous with those two walks in the 2nd. Ugh. You're totally right Bill, too little too late. And Corey is not clutch.

At least not down the stretch this season.

Mark DeRosa just hit a 2-run homer. Cubs lead, 2-0.

My blood pressure...it is high.

So glad we got out of the 3rd unscathed.

Hey Bill, did we ever lead at any point last postseason? I seem to remember feeling anxious the whole time......

Yuck! James Loney belted that grand slam to center. Dodgers lead, 4-2.

Sally, I don't recall ever leading last postseason. I know Game 1 was tied, but that's all. I hate to mention this, but the Cubs have lost their last five playoff games.

Let's keep that number at 5. Still a lot of baseball to be played tonight. Dempster needs to go to his room and think about what he did.

It has been a long time since we've won a playoff game, that's for sure. One out in the bottom of the fifth, and one on. Let's get this game back.

Bill, would it be the last 6 games? Didn't they lose the game before the Bartman game?

The Bartman Game was Game 6 in 2003. They weren't eliminated that night. That was the start of the streak. They would lose Game 7 the next night and then the 3-game sweep in 2007.
Bill Pearch   Wednesday, October 1, 2008
SallyPants
I thought Game 5 was also a loss, if so it'd be 3 in a row in 2003 and 3 last year (right?). Though maybe now isn't the time for me to be harping on past failures...

Go Aramis!
SallyPants   Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Sally, you're right. They did lose Game 5 in Florida. Make that a 6-game losing streak. I guess this is a depressing discussion, isn't it?

Who knows if we'll get the no-hitter Zambrano or the less-than-2-innings Zambrano. It's a toss-up.

This game is painful. The Cubs don't look like pros.

I didn't expect all of these runs today. I didn't feel comfortable with a 2-run lead, but I never assumed we'd be down 7-2.
