Saturday, November 1st, 2008Halloween was... ...a complete bummer.
Last night we had ideal conditions for Halloween trick-or-treaters. The temperature was in the low 60s and not a drop of rain in the sky. Our neighbor across the street had his horror film and sound effects music blasting.
Hardly any kids were out trick-or-treating last night. Not even the packs of high school kids with limited costumes were out. I'm confused. Our neighborhood has tons of kids. Maybe a dozen kids stopped at our house.
We did have a Buzz Lightyear, Minnie Mouse, Captain Jack Sparrow, a witch, rock girl, and Anakin Skywalker. The most creative was a Dad, son and daughter team. They were from
Ratatouille. Dad was a chef, the son was a block of cheese, and the daughter was Ratatouille.
Looks like my office will score big on Monday.
I actually went to the first costume party I've been to in a long time. I painted my hair black (although it's not long enough to try to slick straight back), threw on a light black jacket, and spirit gummed a long scar diagonally down my face. I was among fellow nerds, so I figured somebody would get it right away. And someone did as soon as I walked in.
"Future Peter Petrelli?" Yepper. I was one of the few, if not the only, Heroes character that had the basis for a costume with that scar. The only other one might be Horn-Rimmed Glasses man, Noah Bennett. I guess a cheerleader outfit and a blonde wig could've made me Claire Bennett, but I don't have the legs to pull that off.
Future Peter Petrelli, very cool.
