Today the Chicago Cubs picked up another postseason award. Lou Piniella was named the 2008 National League Manager of the Year. Piniella was the first manager to lead the Cubs to two consecutive postseason appearances since Frank Chance (Yes! Frank Chance from the infamous Tinkers-to-Evers-to-Chance) accomplished the feat in 1906, 1907 and 1908.

Congratulations to Lou, but I would still trade that award and Geovany Soto's Rookie of the Year Award for the World Series trophy.

Pine;;a would never have been in Chi-Town, if he could have gotten along with "Georgy Boy".

It's safe to say there's a place in Yankee heaven for Lou when he decides to hang it up.
