Suffering from WithdrawalAlmost two months have passed since the Chicago Cubs won the National League Central Division, finished the 2008 season with the best record in the National League, and somehow forgot they qualified for the playoffs. Sorry, am I ranting?
For some reason, I started suffering from the early stages of baseball withdrawal this morning. I am taking today off to get ready for Thanksgiving at our house on Thursday. When I woke up, something clicked in my head. It'd be great to do some cleaning, swing by Portillo's for lunch, then come back home around 1:20 p.m. and watch the Cubs. Can't WGN or Comcast air a Cubs 2008 season in review? Today I would even watch a replay of a Pittsburgh Pirates/Kansas City Royals interleague game.
Just over two months until pitchers and catchers report to spring training.
I found a clip from a local news broadcast covering the 1979 Disco Demolition promotion at Comiskey Park. That'll tide me over for a bit. By the way, the photo that they are using that reads, "Riot at Sox Park," that's a photo of Wrigley Field. Oops.
