Is There Anybody Out There?

When I requested my days off around the holidays, I decided that I didn't need to take Friday, December 26 off. Looking at our calendar at work, most off my coworkers planned on being away. I figured it would be a great day to catch up.

When my alarm triggered at 5 a.m., I pulled a Nancy Kerrigan and started screaming, "Why? Why?"

Somewhat regretting my decision right now. At least my office should sound like an echo chamber. Perhaps I'll even be able to turn my music up a little louder.

Bill, I used to do that on the Friday after Thanksgiving until we had kids.

Today, we are dropping the kids of fat school and hitting the "next Black Friday" at Target and Kohl's.

Have a great day. Turn the music up loud!

I used to go in early just so I could get some work done before the phone started ringing with the crisis of the day. You will be amazed at how much you will be able to clear of your desk. Treat yourself to a nice long lunch!

Carrie - Are your kids going to FAT school because of all the Christmas goodies?
Bill & Ben - So glad someone is working today. You guys are so dedicated!

Richie and his brother Trae work for the same company. Because we are all here at their mom's house away from their offices they are both set up on the kitchen table. Being able to work from home (or someone else's) makes working after holidays much easier. Is that an option for you?

I worked (well...sort of) today too. I missed the busy hustle and bustle of people scurrying by my office. It was too quiet to focus. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

I had no options. I did offer to go set up at a hotel about 1/2 mi. from the house and work if the company wanted to foot the bill for a room. I wasn't willing to spend $70 to work for them. LOL My boss said it was quiet and the roads were even worse than before Christmas due to freezing rain so stick close to home. I did. It's almost amusing when you volunteer to work to get out of the house and back on the web for a few hours. LOL
