Spring is Officially Here...UnofficiallySpring training 2009 has arrived. All around Arizona and Florida, pitchers and catchers are reporting to their respective training facilities. If you've been following my blog during the off-season, you'll remember several postings about suffering from baseball withdrawal (part I, part II, and part III). Though spring training games won't start for a few weeks, it's safe to say I survived.
My off-season started a tad earlier than I expected. Let's just say I was felt a touch bitter toward my Chicago Cubs. Need a refresher? Here you go.
Let's just say my expectations remain high, but simple. Win the 2009 World Series. Most experts are predicting the Cubs to walk away with the National League Central Division title for a third consecutive season. The only team I worry about in the division is the Milwaukee Brewers. Unfortunately, with the loss of CC Sabathia, they may have weakened their punch on the mound. Still, he'll have a difficult time matching his numbers from Milwaukee in New York Yankees pinstripes. The only team that won't make a run at the Cubs will be the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Here's to the start of spring training.
