Thanks, Carlos

A couple weeks ago, I posted a blog about my feelings about the World Baseball Classic. As you may recall, I mentioned that I am not fan of the tournament. It happens at a inappropriate time during the middle of spring training. My biggest fear is that players will get injured during these games and be unable to perform for their professional team.

Earlier during the off-season, the Chicago Cubs' starting pitcher, Carlos Zambrano was slated to pitch for Team Venezuela. I am relieved that he came to his senses and decided against playing in this tournament to prevent injury.

Thanks, Carlos. You made a great choice. I'll see you on the mound on Opening Day.

It seems like so many professional athletes are making wrong choices these days. Glad to see Carlos getting his head on straight.

Maybe he read your blog and came to his senses. Perhaps the Cubs will win the world series and it will be because of you! Hey, stranger things have happened.
