MLB Game #2: Brewers vs. Mets

Today we are hopping on the famous New York Subway to get to Shea Stadium. The second-place Milwaukee Brewers will play the New York Mets. This will be my second game of the 2008 season, and Susan's third. If the weather holds off, this should be a fantastic pitching duel.

Saturday's probable starting pitchers are Ben Sheets and Johan Santana. Santana is scheduled to make his Shea Stadium debut.

Here are the current National League Central Division standings:

St. Louis Cardinals 8-3 .727 -
Chicago Cubs 6-4 .600 1 1/2 GB
Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 .600 1 1/2 GB
Cincinnati Reds 6-5 .545 2 GB
Pittsburgh Pirates 4-6 .400 3 1/2 GB
Houston Astros 3-8 .273 5 GB

We NEED a win today for sure! GO BREW CREW! We're starting to slip slide away....

Hope you have a blast, Bill!

It's not that bad, yet. My Cubs and your Brewers are tied for second.

Have fun at one of the ugliest ball parks in the country!

Say hello to Arthur Ashe Stadium next door while you're there.

Biker Ben - Shea Stadium, though not my favorite, wasn't too bad for one of the 1960s-era ballparks. I did get a photo of Arthur Ashe Stadium. I'll add it to my New York album when I return.

Carrie - How about that game? Susan loved it. They made easy work of Johan Santana. The Brewers did move a 1/2 game ahead of my guys.

Great game for sure Bill! I was a bit nervous after the 2nd inning but Sheets totally shut 'em down. My heartburn returned when Gagne entered but no worries. Looks like you had great weather and a pretty full stadium... Give a big high five to Susan for me!!!

Susan begged Ned Yost not to put Gagne in at the end. Guess it worked out good this time.
