Best of the 2000s: Television

Let's continue building some "best of" lists. Last week, we compiled nominations for the best movies and albums of the decade. We'll keep the discussion centered on entertainment.

I am now accepting nominations for the best television programs of the 2000s. Again, I don't want to develop a top ten list yet, but I want thoughts and opinions on what shows you believe stood out from the rest. I don't want to establish too many rules, but the shows listed must have debuted between January 1, 2000 and today. Anything released in 1999 is ineligible.

Some of my nominations include:

24
Heroes
The Office
30 Rock
Deal or No Deal

Any thoughts?

Also, I'm still taking best movie and best album nominations.

Don't think I've watched any of the aforementioned shows...where on earth have I been? Oh yeah, raising children. HA! The only shows I've watched since 2000--besides all things animated on Noggin--are: ER, Survivor and Oprah.

I've watched all of the ELR seasons on TBS, as well as all of the FRIENDS and Seinfeld episodes multiple times...never tire of those!

Arrested Development was pure genius. For those who havn't seen it I highly reccomend adding it to your Netflix queue. Here's the rest...

The Sopranos
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Entourage

Do you sense an HBO theme?

The Office
Robot Chicken
True Blood
Spongebob Squarepants (It is actually very clever!)
Gene Simmons Family Jewels
Band of Brothers
Malcolm In The Middle

Bottom line is that I don't watch much commercial network TV, but once and a while they come up with something fresh. Cable TV shows are where it's at.
