My 2009 Playoff Predictions...Update #2

All of the League Division Series games are complete. Earlier this evening, it appeared the Colorado Rockies were going to force a Game 5 in Philadelphia. The Phillies rallied in the ninth to win the series. Only one series failed to end in a sweep.

National League Division Series
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Colorado Rockies (Phillies won series 3-1)
My winner: Philadelphia Phillies

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (Dodgers won series 3-0)
My winner: St. Louis Cardinals

American League Division Series
Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees (Yankees won series 3-0)
My winner: New York Yankees

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim vs. Boston Red Sox (Angels won series 3-0)
My winner: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Overall, I am pleased with my predictions. My only miss was the Cardinals/Dodgers series. I certainly didn't expect the St. Louis Cardinals to play dead in the first round.

Greg predicted about halfway through the season that it was going to the be Angels and Phillies in the World Series with the Angels winning.

It was sad to see the Cardinals play so terribly. It was like they weren't even the same team in the post season that they'd been all season long.

Same thing with my Cubs last year.

At least in 2007, they weren't expected to win the division. Most people, including myself, thought they were dead in the water in June. In 2008, expectations were raised.
