The End is Near

If you've been following my blog from its inception, you know that a goal of mine is to attend a baseball game in every major league city. Over the two years that Humzoo has been in existence, I've rounded third and headed for home. Since I've been on Humzoo, I've crossed these parks off my list: Shea Stadium (New York), Great American Ballpark (Cincinnati), Safeco Field (Seattle), Turner Field (Atlanta), Coors Field (Denver), Chase Field (Phoenix), and The HHH Metrodome (Minneapolis). As the 2009 season came to a close I had only one stop left - Philadelphia.

We have our plane tickets for Philadelphia ordered. We still need to purchase our game tickets, but my goal will be complete with a game between the New York Mets and Phillies on Saturday, May 1. Following that game, we'll make a quick trip to Boston for a return trip to Fenway Park.

It's hard to imagine that the end is near.

New goal after that? It's been fun to hear about the trips and see the stadiums. I'm sure it feels both good and bad to be near the end.

Congratulations on nearing the completion of your goal! That's quite an achievement. I have been to a ball game in Philadelphia, but none of the other "modern" ball parks, except Busch Stadium, the old one, not the new one. I would be curious to hear your assessment of Wrigley Field compared to the new ball parks.

LGrant, I do have mixed feelings about reaching the end. I would like to travel outside of the US. I can't really count my trips to Canada. I guess I can concentrate my baseball efforts on watching the Cubs play at home again.

Stheinz, I should develop a list of pros and cons of each facility. Thanks for the idea.

Steve and I have seen the Phillies play in Philadelphia, and their stadium is magnificent! You have a big treat in store!!

That is so cool, Bill. I would love to do that someday - I love baseball, and a great stadium makes it all the better. I'm sure it will be bittersweet to finish the journey!

I would still like to organize a Humzoo gathering at a baseball game.

1. AAA stadiums
2. NCAA D1 Stadiums
3. Professional baseball stadiums abroad

Oh, there's plenty left to see.

Hey Aronow, long time no talk. I hope all is well. I would love to see a game in Japan. My cousin was there with the Marines. He said the crowd was crazier than anything he'd ever seen here.
