Weekend of Multiple Disappointments

After the Cubs dropped a few games to the Philadelphia Phillies following an extended winning streak, and a productive home stand, the Washington Nationals series seemed like an excellent opportunity to get healthy again. We lost two out of three to the worst team in the National League. At least Saturday was a 7-0 drumming.

Okay, I have nobody to blame for this one but myself. I thought Ironman opened on Friday. I passed by the York Theatre and failed to notice the "Opens 5/1" listed next to the title. I had to settle for...don't laugh...Baby Mama. It wasn't the funniest film of all time, but it worked. I honestly thought Amy Poehler was funny for a change.

At least I have plans for my nephews next weekend - Ironman.

1) I just don't see Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. Wasn't he arrested while walking down the street naked, high as a kite or was that someone else?

2) True, but Tony Stark had an alcohol problem. Maybe he can tap into that feeling and bring it to the character.

3) Yeah, I wish we could've seen Iron Man when I was up there, Bill. I may have to see if anyone down here wants to go spend the dough on it. I read that The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton is supposed to have a Tony Stark cameo in it to set up a future Avengers movie.

4) I love when films have crossovers. I think that adds to the whole universe.
