MLB 2010 Game #5: Angels vs. CubsToday, Susan and I are taking our nephew to watch the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim make their first trip to Wrigley Field in franchise history. Ever since interleague play was adopted in 1997, a scheduling quirk delayed this match-up until today. Just an interesting side note. I woke up to thunder, lightning and gentle rain this morning. It's difficult to tell, but it appears to be clearing up at the moment. Should be fine come the first pitch.
The Angels will send Scott Kazmir (6-5, 5.27 ERA) to the mound to battle Carlos Silva (8-1, 2.89). Silva, who is coming off his first loss of the season, has been the ace this season. The Angels are currently 37-32 and find themselves in second place in the American League West. They trail the Texas Rangers by 2 1/2 games. In the National League Central, the Cubs are in third place with a 30-36 record, a sit 6 1/2 games out of first.
