Any Big Holiday Plans?

At last, the four day weekend is here. I'm looking forward to short weeks the next two weeks. We have Monday off for the Fourth of July, and some guys in my office are going to the Cubs game on Friday, July 16.

So, does anyone have big plans for the Fourth of July weekend? We have two parties to attend. One is Saturday and the other is on Sunday. Both are local, so no traveling is involved.

With three small towns within 10 miles of me having activities either Sunday or Monday my family and I are not planning to go too far and do too much. I know that my daughter and Craig will be at Five county Stadium watching the Mudcats play baseball. Depending on the heat Bev and I may go to Smithfield and sit down by the Neuse River and listen to Beach Music and watch the fire works around 21:00 hrs. on Monday. With temperatures expected to be in the low 90s I am going to be looking for a place to cool it. who knows I might hang out with my neighbor and drink a cool one (Colorado Kool-Aid a.k.a. Original Coors) and we might just cook a Steak.

We'll be in North Carolina, at the beach. My brother is bringing fireworks so we'll set those off (illegally). Planning to BBQ at the beach house--hot dogs, burgers, baked beans, watermelon, corn on the cob...

We went to my first baseball game EVER tonight. I have church nursery duty on Sunday night. No plans. The game tonight was most certainly enough excitement to last all weekend!!! We're going to Arkansas this coming thursday. Lots to do, just not on the holiday itself!
