MLB 2010 Game #10: Pirates vs. Brewers

We are headed to Miller Park today for a game between two National League Central Division rivals - the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers. The Pirates will send Charlie Morton (1-9, 9.35 ERA) to the mound to battle Brewers starter Dave Bush (6-11, 4.76 ERA). Based upon those two ERAs, I think we might see a slugfest. Now just watch, someone will flirt with a no-hitter.

Unfortunately, both teams are playing out their seasons. The Brewers are in third place in the NL Central, but it's a distant third. They are 61-68 and are 13 games behind the division-leading Cincinnati Reds. The Pirates are in last place with a record of 43-86. They are 31 games out of first. Neither team stands a chance at the National League wild card spot. Currently, the Philadelphia Phillies hold the lead. The Brewers are 11 games out of the wild card, and the Pirates are 29 games out.

Hard to get motivated when you are that far behind the leaders!
