Hitting the Links, AgainFor one reason or another, I haven't played as much golf as I intended this year. Most of my time on the course has been for work outings. Those outings are generally best ball or scramble formats, so I feel I am given a false sense of how well or how poorly I'm playing. I've only played 27 holes of regular golf in 2010, and that's extremely low for me. Even in years when I don't play a lot.
If the looming storms manage to avoid the region until later this evening, which appears unlikely, I'll be playing in a fundraiser for a local park district. The Butterfield Park is one of my company's clients. We won't be playing at their course due to flooding issues they encountered during the storms from June and July. We will be playing at the Downers Grove Golf Club which is a facility of the Downers Grove Park District. I briefly worked for the Downers Grove Park District, but I never had the opportunity to play while I was there. This golf course has an interesting history. You can read about it on the Downers Grove Park District's website.
