What the HEX is going on? Solved!
What the HEX is going on? Solved!
A few weeks ago, I mentioned in my blog that I was experiencing issues exporting images for my company's website. For some reason, I could export the images from my iMac at home properly, but from work was another issue.
A number of Humzooers offered suggestions, so thanks. Yesterday, I had the chance to sit down and talk with the web designer I worked with on the project. Okay, so we really needed to talk about Iron Man and the soon-to-be-released Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. During that discussion we get around the resolving the issue. It was just a case of finding the correct color profile.
Good to hear you're on the right track. I have just recently discovered that when using Adobe's Save for Web feature, if I choose "uncompensated color" as well as "convert to sRGB" in the options, the preview image will look identical to how it looks on the web. Before I was having several issues with saturation getting washed out, but now it's dead on.
I understand profiles and get why they're necessary, but man I hate the whole system. I would be happy to eliminate them all together and just display uncompensated color on screen. A long time ago I kind of had a feel for how my documents would print on offset presses, and at some point it started getting all out of whack. Of course that was back when I was using CRT monitors, which looked awesome.
