The 2010 NLCS is Set

The Atlanta Braves starting pitcher, Derek Lowe, took a no-hitter into the sixth inning of Game 4 of the NLDS, but it wasn't enough. The San Francisco Giants defeated the Braves 3-2 to advance to the National League Championship Series to take on the Philadelphia Phillies. With Halladay, Oswalt, Hamels, Lincecum, and Sanchez, there should be a great pitching matchups. I'm sticking with my original prediction and saying the Phillies will advance to the World Series.

With the Braves loss, that also brought about the end of the managing career of Bobby Cox. Cox lead the Braves to the postseason from each year from 1991 through 2005 (except the strike shortened 1994 season). During that span, the Braves only won one World Series title in 1995.

Tomorrow, the American League Championship Series will be decided. The New York Yankees have already advanced, but the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays will meet in a decisive Game 5 in Tampa Bay. Again, the home team has not won a game during this series. Should be an interesting finish.
