2010: A Look Back

Over the last few weeks, I've been looking back upon the events of the last 12 months and attempting to put everything in perspective. In the past, I've tried to determine whether or not the last 365 days made for a good year, or a bad year. This year, I'm simply going to acknowledge that 2010 was better than 2009. I'll stick with that even though the last week at work has sucked beyond belief. In 2009, I knew far too many people who lost their jobs. As of today, almost every single person I knew who lost a job has one. Perhaps not their ideal position, but they are back working again. On that note, I'll have to give 2010 a positive review.

Here are some of the events that will define what 2010 meant for me.

- Completed my Major League Baseball park tour

- Celebrated Chicago's first Stanley Cup since 1961

- Finally traveled internationally (not counting trips to Canada)

- Attended the most important Bears game of the season

- Hosted another successful Holiday Party

- Had a productive garden

- Celebrated the 10th anniversary of first baseball trip

- The White Sox and Twittergate

- Celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Empire Strikes Back

- The tornado that almost hit my parents' house

- My nephew got a baseball at Wrigley Field

- Celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 50-star flag

- I saw the Wrigley Field marquee painted purple

Here's a quick look back at 2008 and 2009, too.
