Finally. The 2011 Playoffs Begin

What a night on Wednesday. The Philadelphia Phillies needed extra innings to eliminate the Atlanta Braves from National League Wild Card contention. The St. Louis Cardinals needed to beat the Houston Astros to win the wild card. They did that easily. The Boston Red Sox needed a win over the Baltimore Orioles to stay alive in the American League Wild Card race, but couldn't manage. And on top of that, the Tampa Bay Rays needed to comeback from a 7-run deficit against the New York Yankees in the eighth inning to win the AL Wild Card. That's exactly what happened.

So, the playoff picture is set. And, it begins tonight with the American League.
