Super Bowl XLVIYes, that was a great Super Bowl. Two solid teams matched up until the waning seconds. Throughout the game, I was keeping an eye on Twitter. Plenty of snarky comments about the ads. I always get a laugh out of those. For the record, I thought the commercials as a whole were bad. There were a few here and there that were better. Of course, on Monday morning, everyone will be talking about them on TV and at work. Sorry, they just weren't good or memorable.
But, back to the game.
I mentioned that I was constantly checking Twitter. Someone commented on the New York Giants' final touchdown. Leading up to that touchdown run, the broadcasters were commenting that the Giants might drop at the one yard line to keep the clock running. Yes, that makes sense to prevent the New England Patriots from having too much time left to answer. The comment I'm referring to came from a baseball writer. He stated that opting not to score a touchdown is a flaw with the sport. I wholly agree. Scoring a touchdown in a Super Bowl should never be the wrong thing to do.
I'm so glad baseball doesn't have a clock. That's why it's the best game around. Not scoring should never be a strategy.
Spring is just two weeks away.
