A quick survey

As the Elmhurst College yearbook adviser, my staff frequently develops surveys to distribute to students. Some are serious, some are not. For fun over the next few days, I thought I would post some of the survey questions we distributed at senior activities last week.

What would you do with $1,000 in spare cash?

3) Well, last time that happened to me, we bought two iphones. But if it happened again, we would probably spend it on the kitchen remodel.

6) I would LOVE to have a new sofa, since mine is currently 14 years old, but alas, I would probably pay off the TV or our Lowe's card from our basement remodel.

9) We just sold our house and we're moving within two weeks of having the baby. It would either go towards stuff for the new house or into my bank account to supplement my income while I'm off of work.

Oh hell, who am I kidding. It would be spent at Target in one day!

14) I'm with Carrie, but I'm pretty sure my husband would veto that immediately.

I'm going to veto his investment though and say that it would go into our honeymoon fund.

15) I'd buy some REAL money with it - gold and silver. Adjusted for inflation, 100 years ago this survey question would have been "What would you do with $30 in spare cash?"

24) That reminds me of when I was a kid and bubble-gum was 1 penny (showing my age!) and I took .50 once and bought 50 pieces of double-bubble (that big chunk!) bubble-gum. Talk about feeling decadent and affluent!! Right now I'd setting for a tank of gas to make me feel affluent--not sure about the decadent part there. Decadent would be a chocolate-tempering machine so no more fussing with the temperature of chocolate for dipping! :)
