Blackhawks Begin Their Playoff Quest

Tonight, the Chicago Blackhawks will begin their quest to bring the Stanley Cup back to United Center. In 2010, the Blackhawks ended their championship drought that dated back to 1961. During the 2011 playoffs, they managed to stretch their best-of-seven series against the Vancouver Canucks to the limit only to lose in overtime of the seventh game.

During the first round of the NHL's Western Conference playoffs, the Blackhawks (sixth seed) will face the Phoenix Coyotes (third seed). Here's the first round schedule:

Game 1: Chicago at Phoenix (4/12 - 9 p.m. CDT)
Game 2: Chicago at Phoenix (4/14 - 9 p.m. CDT)
Game 3: Phoenix at Chicago (4/17 - 8 p.m. CDT)
Game 4: Phoenix at Chicago (4/19 - 7 p.m. CDT)
Game 5: Chicago at Phoenix (4/21 - 9 p.m. CDT) if needed
Game 6: Phoenix at Chicago (4/23 - TBD) if needed
Game 7: Chicago at Phoenix (4/25 - TBD) if needed

Good luck to the Black Hawks!!!!! Maybe 2013 will be the year of the 'Canes. I am beginning to think that the Canes are the Cubs of the NHL.

I'm hoping the Blackhawks can even the series at 1-1. I hate for them to return to United Center down 0-2.
