Golf 2012 v1.0

Finally. Today, I had the chance to get on a golf course for the first time in 2012. Each year, a group of my friends hit the Dwight Country Club, our old high school course. The weather was perfect and we played all 18 holes. No adverse weather conditions like last year.

Generally, the Sugar Creek Open is the first time I hit a course each year. That is coming up this Friday. I like playing in that outing first since it's a best ball format. That means it's more of a practice round than anything. It's good way to shake off the rust. Originally, I considered not keeping score today. I wanted to focus on elements of my game, but ultimately I decided to keep score. My drives were solid and consistent. My putting wasn't too bad save for a few three putts on the back nine. My fairway shots were inconsistent. Fairway woods baffle me. I know my scores will improve if I can rediscover that portion of my game. For some reason my positive driving range session didn't completely transfer over to my regular round. It's odd because I practiced with every club before playing.

And, you will keep going back to the course as often as you can, depending if you can work it in between Baseball and Honey-Does.

I can't wait for Friday. That outing is held at my home course. That's where I play the most these days.

Sounds like you'll get your kinks worked out. Takes Richie a couple games before he feels more fluid. His drives are good his short game not so much. I'm excite dto hear about how this Friday goes.

At least it's a best ball format. Every shot will be good. Of course, four people get to attempt each shot.

A scramble? Richie likes those. People tend to be more lighthearted.
