Pitching duel
I know a lot of people prefer high-scoring slugfests for baseball games, but give me an old-fashioned pitching duel any day. Yesterday, the Tigers knocked off the White Sox, 2-1. The game was tied 1-1 until Miguel Cabrera took Octavio Dotel deep in the bottom of the ninth.
The highlight of the game when Curtis Granderson tossed a ball to Susan. I've been going to games since the late 1970s and I only walked away with one minor league baseball. She picked up two in the last two years.

1) He "took him deep" did he? Phnar phnar. ;-)
2) I prefer a pitcher's duel as well - although pitchers meltdowns can also be interesting to watch. I was at a Cards / White Sox game at The Cell a couple years ago when Sidney Ponson was still pitching for the Cardinals. At this particular game, he deicded to give up 20 runs in the 3rd inning (literally) and hit two White Sox batters IN A ROW. I was sitting in the bleachers, fearing for my life, the whole time. I believe he was released the next day, never to return. The infamous Ankiel meltdown-during-the-playoffs was witnessed first hand by my mother, and I don't think she'll ever forgive him.
3) I can't believe Susan got a ball from Curtis Grrrrrrraanderson! Be sure to tell her how jealous I am. ;)
4) Will do.
