MLB 2012 Game #6: Marlins vs. Cubs

No clue how it happened. I don't recall the last time my first trip to Wrigley Field came after the All-Star Game. If you turn the clock all the way back to 1995, I know for fact it happened that season. That was season following the strike that canceled the 1994 postseason.

Back to this season. That stroll down memory lane was causing frustration.

Today, I get to experience the newly rebranded Miami Marlins in personal. The teams split the first two games of the series. The Marlins will send former White Sox ace, Mark Buehrle (9-8, 3.13 ERA), to the mound. The Cubs will counter with Paul Maholm (7-6, 4.33 ERA).

As usual, here are the updated National League Central standings:

Cincinnati Reds 51-40 .560 ---
Pittsburgh Pirates 51-40 .560 ---
St. Louis Cardinals 47-45 .511 4.5 GB
Milwaukee Brewers 44-47 .484 7 GB
Chicago Cubs 37-53 .404 13.5 GB
Houston Astros 34-58 .370 17.5 GB
