Two Brothers, Two Homers

Tonight, two brothers playing in the major leagues both belted their 100th career home runs approximately one hour apart from each other. Justin Upton, a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks hit his home run in Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park off Kyle Kendrick of the Phillies. Justin's brother, B.J. Upton, is a member of the Tampa Bay Rays. Roughly one hour later, B.J. homered off of Baltimore Orioles pitcher, Tommy Hunter, at Tropicana Field.

According to MLB's website, this was the 13th time the Upton's have homered on the same day.

BJ Upton has come a long way because about three years ago, he served a fifty game suspension for his temper. He was a great high school football player, who was going to play at either NCSU or FSU but took the MLB.

I don't think BJ Upton ever received a 50-game suspension. That's the first penalty for a failed drug test. In the past he was suspended for two games.

Bill, check your information on BJ Upton because he was suspended fifty games when he was in Triple A Ball with The Durham Bulls. It was not for Drugs, I don't believe but as I have said he has come a long way with his attitude and achievements.
