New Features Hatching on Humzoo
Humzoo is three weeks old, and we've been very happy to see it grow steadily in that short time. Today we're excited to bring you some great new features that we've been working on for quite awhile.
More About You

Today we are introducing a new page for all Humzoo web sites -- the About page. The About page is designed to give you a place to share a little more about yourself. Want to publish your contact information? Email address? Online screen names? This is the place.
We thought it might be fun to know what makes each person unique. So we added a few personal items to the About page, such as hobbies, pet peeves, music, movies and links.
To get started, go to your site and click on the 'About' tab in your header. You'll see it all the time when you're logged in, but visitors only see if it you have some information on that page. This page is totally optional, so please only publish information that you are comfortable sharing online.
New Photo, Old Album
We noticed early on that sometimes new photos get added to albums that have been around for awhile. Some people have albums that function as a Daily Photo of sorts, where new photos are added in on a regular basis over time.
The problem is that on the Community page (as well as the Humzoo home page), new photos inside old albums had no way to make it to the surface.
Starting today, any new photos that get added to pre-existing albums will be listed on the Community page and the Humzoo home page. We hope that this will encourage more people to start Daily Photo albums, and it will help bring attention to other albums that have been updated recently.
Remembering What You See
Between the hundreds of new comments, photos and blogs that get added to Humzoo each week, it can be difficult to remember what you've seen and what's new. We have a new system in place today that will help.

Introducing -- a blue dot.
On the Community page, there will be a small blue dot next to any item or comment that you have not previously seen. This has also been implemented on the Latest Comments list on each person's front page.
We have been recording stats for several days now, so hopefully the Community page isn't filled with blue dots for you now. It's possible that some older items that you may have seen last week will be marked as new, but this will work itself out in a matter of days.
Introducing New Themes

Now choose from a wider selection of themes, with the addition of our new Under the Sea and 8bit themes. These two new themes are nothing like the others - they offer more colorful and playful sites than anything we've made. We're excited about continually adding to our theme collection over time, and we'll always let you know when there's something new.

Dudes! I saw the blue dots earlier tonight and thought finally now... I don't have to comb through Humzoo five times to see if I missed anything. Like all the new features! Keep them coming.
I second shoo's comment and raise him a thank you!
Go Dave & Denny!
You both deserve a raise!
Shoo,
What in the world is wrong with combing Humzoo 5 times? You know that is what you do at work all day anyway right?
This is totally rad.
Wow guys, these new features are TOPS.
You know, Webaholic Disorder is actually being considered for the DSMMD. Sweet! Now we can all get fun meds!
Humdingled to the power of 10. Love the new features--hate that I will have to do less housecleaning to check it all out and look for blue dots like a hound on the trail. I love how you come up with new things that I'd love before I realize I don't have them and appreciate them to make Humzoo the place to be! I keep telling folks out here to join the party--we need more Oregonians in the mix! :) Thanks Denny and Dave!!
Yea!!! I love the blue dot. And I love that photos added to old albums are see-able. Woo hoo!!
Will there ever be a way to use one's own domain on this service? Not just a redirect or a hacky frame, but and honest to goodness quasi virtual host via a DNS CNAME?
How about an iPhoto export-plugin, like Picasa? That and the ability to use a my own domain might make me abandon Google's freebie offerings and fork over $25 per year.
