Audio Skipping on Humzoo Video
Hello Humzoo! We've received several reports of audio issues with videos after they are uploaded to Humzoo. We've done a great deal of testing and research over the past six months to figure out the issue. We use an open-source tool called ffmpeg to process videos and format them for our player on Humzoo. ffmpeg is very popular, has a progressive development community behind it, and is used by many other video hosting sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc. However, just like all software, it has its problems.
The search for a fix hasn't been easy and we really appreciate everyone's patience while we troubleshoot the problem. We've got some good news. We think we've figured it out! We've done a bit of testing, using several of the problematic video files uploaded by members over the past few months, and the audio skipping problem doesn't exist in the newly processed video files. Time will tell if the issue is resolved for everyone and all video types. If you experience problems please let us know immediately! You can do so by send us a note on the Contact page, or by emailing us at info@humzoo.com.
We do realize that it's been a while since updates have been made to Humzoo. We've been pretty busy with other projects but we haven't forgotten about Humzoo. In fact, we've been working on a feature list for Humzoo 3, which is just around the corner. Development isn't in motion just yet, but we've planned a long weekend in March which will be dedicated to new features and enhancements for Humzoo. That's right, no skateboarding, filmmaking or discount store diving. We're kicking the family out of the house and getting down to it. Look forward to a fresh new look, social network integration and more!
