Which came first...

...The Wolf (NC State)...
...or the Badger (Wisconsin)?

I think they shared a graphic designer.

1) Casey: The Wolf was adopted as the NCSU Mascot, right after WWII, when there were many veterans in school and the student body voted on the mascot. The NCSU mascot goes by the name of "Toughie" and the when team plays, there are actually 2 mascots: Mr. Wuff, and Mrs. Wuff.

3) Badgers? We ain't got no stinkin' badgers!

Apparently a drawing of the original logo of Bucky (the Badger) was done in 1940 but they used a real badger for games that year. He was too vicious so they had to go to the "fake" one and hire a person to wear the Bucky uniform.

SO if Beano is correct, the Badger was first... and it's definitely waaay cooler!!!!

4) This image of the Wolf has been enhanced in the last eight years. The nickname is approximately 62 years old. The badger is probably older, but the image of the Badgers has been enhanced by the Sports Marketing Group many times in order to sell merchandise. Casey, just belive one thing and that is that Wolf will bite you, and Wolves, especially NCSU Make Great Lovers.

5) Of course the images have been enhanced. Every logo changes with the ages.

"Wolf will bite you, and Wolves, especially NCSU Make Great Lovers."
^^ can you please clarify what that means...

7) Feeling the need to explain why I posted this in the first place. I would say that about 40% of the residents in my apartment complex either do or did go to State. A lot of the cars around me have the NCSU wolf decals on their cars, and I kept driving by them thinking, "why does that look so familiar? Where have I seen that before?" And then one morning I was driving to work and it dawned on me - "Wisconsin! Of course!" So I looked it up online to see if I was right and they really did look alike - and sure enough! Very similar! :-D

9) Haven't you ever seen any movies or heard ladies say a guy is a Wolf because he is very straight forward, and a fast mover. Casey, when you live in Wolfpack Country, expect to see the Wolfpack decals and other car decorium items. You should be out on one the approaches to the stadium on game day, almost every automobile has flags and other items. Get to be friends with a wolf and you will enjoy your stay in Raleigh. I will admit all of us Wolfpackers tend to be a bit on the crazy side in football and basketball seasons and we don't care much for the People's Republic of Chapel Hill.
