Family Plague

On our way out of town Friday morning, Mia puked in the car. We weren't sure why because she hadn't seemed ill. Apparently, she had a stomach virus. She went on to share it with Dave's mom, my mom and Ethan.

The weird part is that everyone else got better, but Mia is still pooping constantly and she just puked again. Time to call the doc, I guess.

And I'm starting to feel slightly questionable.

5) Dude! Court, I bet Mia got that butt leak from Beck or Emmet. I would call up your local vet and make an appointment for an "anal gland expression". Don't worry after a few times it will just roll off the tongue. Hope that helps! She should feel better in no time.

6) So sorry, definitely time to see the doc-hope she isn't dehydrated and i really hope it doesn't hit you. When mommy is down, well that is just the worst disaster.

8) It's official. The mommy is down. I told Dave he would be in charge of feeding the kids tonight. I suggested a baked potato (lots of starch) for Mia. He said, "Where do I get a baked potato?"

We're in trouble here, folks.

9) Also, I may never want to eat pasta again after what I have been through today.

11) Oh no. Make sure Dave picks up some Ginger Ale (and Gatorade if you're losing electrolytes). I hope you feel better soon

12) I'm so sorry, Courtney. It's miserable. And I'm very concerned about Mia. She should have been better by now. Please let me know if I can help.

13) The doc wasn't too concerned about Mia. Says it still sounds like an average tummy bug. I'll bother him again in a couple of days if I have to.

Dave figured out the potato, but of course Mia doesn't want it.

14) It's not pretty at the Heinzel household tonight. Courtney has vomited 7 times and is not slowing down yet. I thought I was getting sick last night, so I laid down in bed at 8:00 and didn't wake up until 3am. I feel ok today, but I will probably be home tomorrow taking care of the family. Mia is in my lap now like a ragdoll. Ethan is sitting still in the brown chair watching Mr. Rogers. Send help.

16) Try Mia on the B-R-A-T diet...Banana, rice, apple sauce and tea (cold tea). I know it sound crazy but it really works. My pediatrician recommended it.

18) Thanks Matt, and thanks everyone. We have used the BRAT diet, but so far Mia doesn't seem different. She hasn't thrown up on me yet today, so that's cool. And I'm going to put her down for bed in a couple minutes. She's so sleepy and cuddly. Poor girl, it's not like her to want to snuggle. Oh she's rubbing her eyes now. Awesome. Bye bye!

19) Put one of those Humzoo stickers on everyone's belly. I think they emit some kind of immunity potion that will cure you in no time. That's at least what it said on the package. I think its like a taser, bro. Hope you guys feel better soon!

20) I will tell you from our experience that this strain is a really long and awful one! I had it for 9 days and Jake 11. Our pediatrician said that it was quite typical of what was going around this season. Yuck!

22) So far, Phase One has involved eleven installments. I don't think I can manage many more. I'm desperately thirsty, but I'm trying not to drink more than a sip every ten minutes or so for now. Also, my muscles are killing me. I ran yesterday after a long hiatus. I'm dying for tylenol and a long bath.

Poor Mia hasn't peed in a very long time. She did sometime today, but I can't remember when. She'll be on super dehydration watch tomorrow. We did finally get her some pedialyte, but I'm sure she'll totally hate it. I should have had Dave get popsicles.

23) Oh man, Courtney! I am so sorry for all of you. :( If you can talk Dave into making a run for you, I will tell you that was the one thing I could get Jake to take when he was sick.

Hope you waking up feeling a whole lot better tomorrow!! I'll be thinking about you.

24) Yes, Courtney, I definitely think dehydration is the thing to worry about for Mia at this point. Poor baby. Happened to Dave when he was her age.

26) Dave is down too? No way! Who is going to run Humzoo? Oh, I guess that would be me. Hell yeah, anything goes on Humzoo today.
