The Big One!

Forget the tornado warning(s), there was a SPIDER ON OUR COUCH! Dave went into full melt down mode.

2) Ok, in my defense, it was highly likely that the spider was within 2 feet of my elbow. I had heart palpitations. It was blurry and I saw it out of the corner of my eye, and it was bookin'.

I jumped up and left the area, then I came back with a shoe. I saw it on the floor right by the couch. I only had one chance to hit it, and I thought I got him. But then he came running at me with the fury of a beast. If I say he was walking, he was sprinting. And my friends, he was moving!

Mr. Spider went under the coffee table. I moved it, and he started heading for under the couch. I only had one more chance - and I smacked him good. But that guy was so big he took two or three full-force hits with my size 13 shoes. I cleaned up the carcass and hastily discarded it in the nearest trash receptacle.

I am now sitting in the middle of the living room floor and have asked Courtney to watch my back. Pray for us, Springfield.

5) As we were watching Channel 20 news, I saw something weird on the screen and said, "What is that?!" Dave jumped and looked behind him and said, "WHERE?!"

LOL...too funny.

8) Arrrgh. We just saw the monster of all spiders. Andrew got it good. He doesn't know that the only reason I married him is to be a live-in spider killer.

9) We have spiders the size of small skillets where I work. Too bad I cant somehow train them to do stuff.

10) So, am I the only one that traps the spiders and lets them go outside? I am grateful for all the mosquito eating and other bug eating that they do.

11) Girlcarew, you aren't the only one. Dave wouldn't make it in Oregon--LOTS of spiders. All harmless as far as I know. I let them go their own way unless they are on me and then I usually react before I can stop myself to sling them off. Not big on things crawling on me but I usually don't kill them unless they are MN mosquitoes. :)

12) I like spiders.....they are our friends. Like you said, carew, they eat flies and anything that eats flies is my friend.

13) Spiders don't bother me-I usually just pick them up in a paper towel and deposit them outside. Snakes-now that's my scary spot but they are safe from me because I take off as fast as I can.

14) Dannie, I think we are related. Same here. And even when my brain says "it's a harmless snake" my feet say "BYE!" Maybe spiders would bother me if they were tarantulas in TX. :)

15) I am allergic to spider bites. I once got bitten on the face during a camping trip when I was a kid, and my eye swelled shut.
