Blood Pressure: Through the FREAKIN ROOF!

It's 11:00 pm. Our neighbors appear to be removing a fence. There are bright lights, hammers on metal and power tools. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!

I went out and said, "Hey! We can't be doing this at 11:00 at night. We can hear you with the windows and doors closed. We have two little kids."

The response was a very "hick" sounding, "Okay. No problem. We're quitting."

I should have just called the cops. It will take me at least two hours to settle down now.

1) I'm sure in about 10 - 15 minutes I'll be pressured into going out to purchase some sort of ice cream treat.

2) You know, I just realized that there was no apology in his response. None at all. That mfer is on my list. He better be a model citizen from now on.

7) Good fences may not make good neighbors.... but sometimes high fences help.

9) There is probably a sound ordinance in your town and you can still file a complaint-some people are clueless.

10) Are they late sleepers? Maybe you can get Mia to pitch a fit outside their window about 6 am.

11) girlcarew, I don't think they're late sleepers, and I wouldn't dream of doing anything like that because his mother still lives there.

dannie, I did look at some of the ordinances online last night. Apparently we have a dwarf-throwing ordinance. It's illegal to throw little people. I'll remember that next time I go to McDonald's. I couldn't find too much in the way of sound It was very general.

12) 7:13 a.m. And they have started back up. That is also not a reasonable time, but at least my kids are awake now.

14) I found this for you Courtney after googling Noise laws, IL

"Construction: on-site erection, fabrication, installation, alteration, demolition or removal of any structure, facility, or addition thereto, including all related activities including, but not restricted to, clearing of land, earth-moving, blasting and landscaping.

Daytime hours: 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, local time.

You could print out the page, highlight the hours and hand it to them...

20) Yeah, the leaf blower is a good idea...one of the two idiots who live across the street from us owns one and has to blow any particle of debris from the foundation of his house all the way to the MIDDLE of the street. No kidding. The man blows the debris near his curb to the middle of the road. Dumbass.

21) You can't do that in MN--they won't let you use the street for snow or debris.
