Coincidence or ATT Screw Up?
We had our home phone disconnected because we're beyond poor right now. They turned it off today. The weird thing is that my iPhone now says "No Service." So, I can't figure out if this is a weird coincidence or if they mistakenly cut off our cell service too. And Dave is, of course, not answering his email.
Joe Day, I know you're out there in Springfield with an iPhone. What does yours say? You got any bars?

:-)
I have been trying to convince Niki to cut out our 50/month home phone line for years but she always comes up with a different excuse. Her latest one is "What if the baby sitter needs to call us?". We haven't had a sitter yet that doesn't own a cell phone and I am happy to add that to the list of prerequisites along with "Don't drink all my beer".
Betsy, I bet you look hot with your bag phone. So jealous.
If I didn't have a phone that was suffering from toilet water, I don't think I'd be getting the new one. I've been looking online for a used 1st generation instead.
Maybe that's just my Dustin Diamond phone.
Joe, I don't know if I'd want to own anything with Dustin Diamond's name on it anymore...he's gotten creepy.
Hayley, actually Denny and I rarely go out together when we get a babysitter. His girlfriend got jealous last time I tagged along. He forgot to mention that he uses the home line quite frequently for work. I guess I have just gotten used to a home phone in almost every room and not having to run up or down the stairs to get my cell phone.
I WANT ONE!
Also, I like not having a home phone. I get very few (maybe once every three months) sales or survey calls on my cell phone, and I nearly always have it with me. So, I just don't see a need for a home phone.
Ever since then I've just used my cell: but I think that's more than normal among 20 somethings leaving home. Troy and I both have our cells, and the important people in life have both our numbers (I think). Just tell yourself that once you get your iPhone, you can disconnect the home phone - that way cost evens out!
Mrs. Shoo, if i find it online to buy, i'll let you know :)
