The Family Illness
I have finally acquired the family illness. We have been passing around a nasty stomach virus since last Friday. It started with Mia, then it hit my mom, Bobbie, Ethan, Courtney and now me.
Last night I slept on the couch because Courtney was sick, and I woke up at 4:00 or so with the taste of vomit in my mouth. Super cool. I hung out by the toilet for awhile, but nothing happened. So I sat on the front porch for a bit to get some fresh air and then headed back to the couch.
I slept off and on, mostly off, until the kids woke up. I was extremely weak and couldn't get up. I knew if I stood up, I'd probably vomit. It was a great feeling.
Eventually I got up and walked slowly upstairs to get Mia out of bed (Ethan had already gotten himself out of bed). Mia was crying for mommy, but she had to deal with daddy. She's a mommy's girl lately for sure.
Anyway, we all headed back down to the living room, mommy too. I called my mom to see if she could take a kid or two off our hands, and she said sure. I called work to say I couldn't come in today.
Then I finally threw up, and it was horrible. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. You know when you throw up and some goes through your nose? That's fun. Now I can't get rid of the smell 'cause it's in my sinuses somewhere. I'm sure that is good for me.
TMI, I know. Sorry. I'm heading back to a reclined position and will give updates later if I can.

Hope it leaves the Heinzel household soon. We all had it a couple weeks ago and it was awful.

Ummmmm. I think we're going to stay away this weekend, just to be on the safe side. I'll get with Courtney to reschedule...

Thanks everyone. Soundchick, good idea! You don't want to be anywhere close to our house right now. My mom just left with both kids, and Courtney and I will proceed to stay reclined and moan in unison. I've only thrown up once since posting this blog (twice total), but man it's nasty. I can't remember the last time I threw up like this. Yikes. Sorry, you didn't need to hear that.
Well, all I have to say is that you Heinzels are certainly a sharing family, love and all illnesses. Please feel better, and Dave, consider a Neti Pot--wonderful invention!
Yup, the Neti Pot will help you get rid of that sinus-vomit issue!

Joe, I tried your advice, and I threw up again. That was installment number three for me. And you know what they say, three, it's a magic number.
Update on the sickness. I threw up 6 times today, but I haven't thrown up since like 2:00 or so. Hopefully I can get by with 6, which is half of Courtney's dozen pukes. I feel extremely tired and sore all over, and I am not really hungry yet. The last thing I ate was a single-serving DiGiorno pizza last night, which was awesome. Oh and some ice cream, but that doesn't count.
Not sure if I'll be online tonight and when. I will not be going to work tomorrow though. There's no way I can go from feeling like this to being able to sit at a desk tomorrow. My parents still have the kids and will be dropping them off in about an hour.
Dag Nabbit, I thought for sure that would bring up your spirits. Well, pass the advice on. I'm sure that will help.

Dude that is so weird. Remember what I told you online today? The last time Niki and I both had the same bug I puked like 11-12 times and she only puked 6. You know what that means right? Yep, you're the chick in your marriage. I knew there was something fishy going on with your hair getting longer. You total chick!

Dave, don't come out of your house whatever you do. If you do, you might see the gas prices and you'd just get sick all over again.
